Elmer’s Mfg is proud to announce the completion of phase 2 of the 4-phase expansion. The completed expansion is 125’ x 192’ and is adjacent to the Paint and Assembly building that recently opened in 2020.
The completed expansion is 24,000 sq ft of fabrication space on the main floor. Above the main floor is a 4,800 sq ft mezzanine featuring windows all around providing a great vantage point over all the production processes. It hosts a large break room, office spaces and a conference room. Along with the new fabrication building comes new fabrication equipment including a large and small CNC press brake, and a 12Kw Automated Laser Cutting system, providing sheet metal fabrication capabilities. The expansion allows Elmer’s to transfer its existing processes including Welding, and CNC machining and combine the sheet metal fabrication under one roof increasing efficiency as they are now all adjacent to each other.
The state-of-the-art facility features an air-conditioned air exchange system which is unique amongst other fabrication facilities, meant to keep temperature cooler and humidity down to increase the comfort of production staff and provide a healthier environment. Windows and transparent overhead doors supply ample natural sunlight to complement the efficient, well-lit LED lights.
What is next?
At the beginning of Phase 1, a four-phase plan was developed, allowing us to follow a familiar pattern to continue expanding the plant as the needs arise. As the building stands, it is set to be mirrored to the east for phases 3 and 4. No definite plans have been set for when this will happen, but the design will commence later this year. In the meantime, we will continue making smaller, incremental improvements such as a new loading dock and relocating our warehouse in preparation for these future steps.
The expansion has created 15 full-time positions in direct and indirect production roles, with an additional 5 full-time positions currently open. The new capabilities and space provide the ability to develop new products faster to suit the agriculture market’s needs while meeting growing production demands.
